Amazon is keeping the details of its Warhammer 40,000 series project under strict wraps. The series will be produced by and star Henry Cavill, a renowned and dedicated fan of Games Workshop's grimdark universe, who has long advocated for a live-action adaptation of the 41st millennium's Space Marines. While Amazon MGM Studios was previously confirmed as the production house, the identity of the creative lead partnering with Cavill remained a mystery until now.

It has recently been revealed, as reported by Deadline, that acclaimed horror director Mike Flanagan is joining the project. Flanagan is celebrated for his work on series such as *The Haunting of Hill House*, *The Haunting of Bly Manor*, *The Fall of the House of Usher*, and *Midnight Mass*. According to the report, "script work is expected to commence shortly," and it's emphasized that Cavill remains "deeply involved" in the project.

In related news, significant progress is being made on the new Secret Level episode for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, with its production nearing completion. Furthermore, Games Workshop is set to produce an animated series based on Deathwatch, likely drawing inspiration from the impressive fan-made short film series, "Astartes."

Considering Flanagan's directorial background, do you believe he is an ideal choice to write and direct the Warhammer 40,000 series alongside Henry Cavill?
