Following the announcement of the cover star and release date for NBA 2K27, an official gameplay trailer has been unveiled, detailing the improvements developer Visual Concepts has planned for the project.

Unlike in previous years, all new information regarding NBA 2K27 has been revealed at once, meaning there are quite a few details to digest. We're told that each enhancement will be addressed in detail in mid-August during a show called "Preseason Breakdown" on August 18th, but for now, here's what we know.

On the gameplay front, shooting contests are promised with smarter AI to offer a "more balanced and rewarding gameplay experience." This will be further reinforced by an improved dunk meter to add a "new technical dimension to basket finishes."

In addition, for MyPlayer, expect new badges (19 in total) that will allow for even more character customization, while "Cap Breakers" will make a return to further influence your character's stats.

MyTeam will benefit from a cross-platform auction house and faster card transactions, while MyNBA will "return to the fundamentals" by including the second play zone envisioned by the new CBA and no-trade clause options for free agents, along with other community-requested features.

Regarding MyCareer, the environment is undergoing improvements to make The City more accessible and centralized, while adopting a new neon night aesthetic. Rucker Park ( "the mecca of streetball" ) also makes an appearance in the game; you'll be able to grace the New York court and even discover a preliminary story dedicated to this location, titled "Fire & Concrete."

We are told there are other changes and improvements promised, but they will be unveiled on August 18th during the full presentation of NBA 2K27.
