However, a notable incident occurred when Luka Doncic (who scored 33 points, aligning with his season average of 33.4 points per game) was assessed his 16th technical foul of the season. This happened during a heated exchange with the Magic's Goga Bitadze, leading to fouls for both players. Doncic alleged that Bitadze had insulted his family, an accusation the Georgian player denied, claiming it was Doncic who initially insulted his mother.
Despite the circumstances, Doncic's foul represented his 16th technical infraction of the season, which typically triggers an automatic one-game suspension for the subsequent match. Following an appeal by the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA, the league decided to rescind Doncic's suspension. Consequently, he is now cleared to play in his upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
