Doncic alleged that Bitadze had insulted his family, an accusation the Georgian player denied, claiming it was Doncic who initially insulted his mother.
Despite the circumstances, Doncic's foul represented his 16th technical infraction of the season, which typically triggers an automatic one-game suspension for the subsequent match. Following an appeal by the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA, the league decided to rescind Doncic's suspension. Consequently, he is now cleared to play in his upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
Technical fouls have been a recurring issue throughout Doncic's NBA career, often stemming from his frequent outbursts, particularly directed at referees. This incident marks the third time he has accumulated 16 technical fouls, a threshold that usually results in an automatic one-game suspension.
