Netflix Boosts One Piece Presence with New Live-Action Season, Anime Remake, and Autumn Lego Adventure
One Piece enthusiasts have recently experienced a whirlwind of exciting announcements from Netflix regarding the beloved franchise. Key among these reveals is the confirmation of a third season for the live-action series, slated for 2027, promising to bring the epic Battle of Alabasta to life. Furthermore, Netflix plans to remake the original anime, aiming for a faster, more accessible viewing experience that bypasses the daunting task of catching up on over 1,000 episodes.
However, the streamer's commitment to Eiichiro Oda's universe extends even further. This autumn, fans can anticipate a unique 'two-part visual show' marking a vibrant crossover between Lego and One Piece. Aimed at a younger audience, this special will re-imagine the events covered in the first two seasons of the live-action series.
The project is a collaborative effort between the Lego Group, Japanese publisher Shueisha, and Vancouver's Atomic Cartoons. Tom Hyndman is at the helm as series director, writer, and executive producer. Beloved characters Usopp and Tony Tony Chopper will serve as narrators for this special. A preview of what's to come can be found in the first trailer below. A specific release date for the Lego special has not yet been announced.
