Fans are eagerly awaiting news about the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda, announced during the recent Nintendo Direct. As the summer winds down and before the major release of Grand Theft Auto VI in November, September and October are packed with significant game launches.
However, one title that could stand on its own, even if released around the same time as GTA VI, is the rumored Ocarina of Time remake. Whispers had suggested this game would be accompanied by the first themed console version, a rumor that has now seemingly been confirmed.
The X account Centro Leaks has shared what appear to be the first images of the packaging for a Nintendo Switch 2 "The Legend of Zelda" edition, as well as a themed Pro Controller. True to form, the designs draw inspiration from the franchise's most recognizable elements, such as Link and the Triforce, presented in black and gold color schemes, reminiscent of previous themed editions for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch.
The packaging also features a special logo created to celebrate the franchise's 40th anniversary in 2026, showcasing a tiny 8-bit Link brandishing his sword, mirroring the sprite from the very first "Zelda" adventure on the NES.
Naturally, as this is a leak, these details – and indeed their very existence – should be treated with caution. Nevertheless, all indications point towards the Ocarina of Time remake being accompanied by a specially designed console and controller, with a November launch window appearing plausible for such a significant release.
