Payday: Aces High Revealed, Launch Set for 2026
A new chapter in the Payday saga is under development, with a release scheduled for 2026. This upcoming installment promises to revolutionize the heist experience by offering unprecedented immersion through virtual reality. Players can expect to rediscover the essence of iconic heists, accompanied by their criminal companions, but in a completely reimagined format.
According to a recent press release, Payday: Aces High thrusts up to four participants into the roles of "the Aces," a group of criminals tasked with perilous and incredibly audacious missions. The main storyline will lead them on a quest for vengeance after being betrayed by the powerful business magnate Warren Jupiter.
Customization will be central to the game, allowing players to refine their arsenal with distinct weapons, gadgets, and other elements to successfully execute their operations in various locations: from banks to museums, and even luxury residences. Erik Odeldahl, co-founder and creative director at Fast Travel Games, expressed his excitement: "For 15 years, we've admired how PAYDAY immerses players in scenarios straight out of the wildest Hollywood crime films, letting them take control of the heists. With Payday: Aces High, we're taking it to the next level – get ready to lock and load with up to three other heisters, in the immersion only VR can provide!"
Adolf Kristjansson, CEO of Starbreeze Entertainment, emphasized that Fast Travel Games was the "perfect partner" for this project. He added: "With Aces High, we are expanding the PAYDAY universe, inviting players to plan and execute heists together in a totally immersive experience. Under their leadership, Aces High is not just an adaptation. It's a true PAYDAY game, built from the ground up for this medium."
Payday: Aces High is already available for wishlisting on Meta and Steam platforms, and its launch is set for 2026.
