Pokémon Pokopia Dives into Aquatic Adventures with "Bubbly Basin" DLC
The life simulation game, "Pokémon Pokopia," developed by Koei Tecmo, has been a breakout hit since its release in the first half of 2026. Exceeding all expectations from both the studio and The Pokémon Company, the game tasks players with helping Ditto, the aptly named Mimic Pokémon, rebuild a world devoid of humans, allowing Pokémon to thrive once more.
While "Pokémon Pokopia" has previously featured limited-time events offering minor enhancements or bonuses, August 5th marks a significant expansion with the arrival of the "Aquatic" update.
This free content update introduces the ability to explore marine biomes through the "Dive" skill, which Ditto can learn from Manaphy. Players can also construct an underwater vacation home and establish a transportation network to invite their friends. However, the "Aquatic" update is just the beginning.
The paid content of Part 1 of the Expansion Pass will transport players to the new region of "Bubbly Basin." Here, Popplio will guide players in revitalizing the area, bringing back its lost vibrancy. As expected, this new region introduces a host of new Pokémon, with Water-type Pokémon taking center stage. An additional exploration zone is featured in the ocean trenches, requiring players to utilize coral bioluminescence to navigate the deepest parts of the abyss.
Beyond "Bubbly Basin," The Pokémon Company has announced that Part 2 of the "Pokémon Pokopia" Expansion Pass, focusing on accessories, is slated for release in late 2026. A third part, introducing an entirely new region, is planned for 2027. These upcoming additions promise many more reasons to continue enjoying "Pokémon Pokopia." Will you be diving into this new content?
