Rumor: The Upcoming Resident Evil - Code: Veronica Remake is "Heavily Remixed"
Although not yet officially announced, the Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake has been generating significant buzz, largely thanks to revelations from Dusk Golem, a reputable Capcom insider. He recently shared crucial new information, asserting that the project is in the hands of Capcom's master remake team: Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo, the duo already responsible for the acclaimed Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Dusk Golem further suggests that this remake could be the most "remixed" in the series, featuring substantial modifications compared to the original work. He clarifies, however, that these changes do not imply any content cuts; on the contrary, the game would be expanded, and certain sequences heavily reworked. Every enemy, location, and major event from the original is expected to be present, and many even expanded upon. The insider also notes the increased importance of Chris Redfield, as this would be his first appearance as a young man in the RE Engine remakes – an opportunity Capcom has reportedly seized to flesh out his role, without overshadowing Claire's.
Currently, Capcom appears to be focusing its efforts on Resident Evil Requiem, which recently launched and for which DLC is in development. Therefore, it is unlikely that new information regarding the Code Veronica remake will be unveiled anytime soon. However, autumn could be an opportune time for a major announcement, potentially at events like Gamescom, the Tokyo Game Show, or The Game Awards.
