The Blood of Dawnwalker: Rebel Wolves Director is Very Confident in the Upcoming RPG
In the current gaming news landscape, often dominated by reports of delays, studio closures, and layoffs, it's a welcome change to hear a game director express strong confidence in his team and product. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director at Rebel Wolves, shared his unexpectedly smooth experience developing The Blood of Dawnwalker, one of the most anticipated RPGs of the year. Despite the usual industry challenges, Tomaszkiewicz has found the development process to be remarkably straightforward.
"To be honest, I'm surprised it all went so smoothly," Tomaszkiewicz stated in an interview with The Game Business. "Everyone always said that assembling a team is incredibly difficult, but for us, it was quite easy because people genuinely wanted to work with us. And when it comes to game development itself, people warned it would be a tough road, but we're seeing very positive results during our playtesting. We're feeling confident. I'm surprised we haven't encountered any major roadblocks."
He elaborated on his positive outlook: "It's hard for me to point to anything that has truly gone wrong, as everything is coming together very well, and the team is happy. That's the biggest reward for me – having a happy team creating a fantastic game."
Tomaszkiewicz suggests that his improved experience might stem from working at the smaller studio, Rebel Wolves, compared to his previous tenure at the massive CD Projekt Red. Transitioning from a team of over 500 individuals to a more focused group of 160 has allowed him to connect with everyone on a more personal level, significantly reducing the amount of managerial paperwork he needs to handle.
For those eager to learn more about how Tomaszkiewicz's ambitious game is taking shape, you can find his full interview below.
