Vinícius Jr. and Real Madrid Face Contract Impasse; Arsenal Transfer Becomes a Possibility

A recent meeting at Real Madrid's headquarters between the club and Vinícius Jr.'s agents failed to yield an agreement, increasing the likelihood of the Brazilian winger's departure this summer. Vinícius has reportedly been reluctant to sign a new deal for an extended period, insisting on terms that would bring his salary in line with that of Kylian Mbappé.

According to reports from Cadena Ser, Vinícius currently earns €18 million annually. While the club had agreed to raise this to €22 million, potentially reaching €24 million with bonuses, they are unwilling to increase their offer further. Vinícius, however, is said to be requesting €30 million per year.

Despite Vinícius's stated preference to remain at Real Madrid, successive negotiation sessions have not led to a resolution. The situation hinges on either Real Madrid increasing their financial offer or Vinícius's camp adjusting their salary demands. Although his current contract extends until the 2026/27 season, speculation is mounting that the club may opt to sell him. Arsenal has emerged as a prominent contender, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly keen on making the Brazilian the centerpiece of his team.
