Anticipated price adjustments for the Xbox Series X and S consoles have now been officially confirmed for the United Kingdom and Europe. Sadly, both consoles are no longer as budget-friendly as they once were.
As noted by a ResetEra user, the official new pricing for both models in these regions has been revealed. The less expensive Series S sees a price increase of £130 / €150, while the Series X is hit with a hike of £170 / €200.
Below are the revised prices compared to their previous retail costs:
- Xbox Series S (512GB): Now £429.99 (previously £299.99) / €499.99 (previously €349.99)
- Xbox Series S (1TB): Now £519.99 (previously £349.99) / €599.99 (previously €399.99)
- Xbox Series X (1TB, Digital Edition): Now £619.99 (previously £449.99) / €749.99 (previously €549.99)
- Xbox Series X (1TB, Disc Edition): Now £669.99 (previously £499.99) / €799.99 (previously €599.99)
It's safe to say that video gaming is increasingly becoming a luxury, especially when considering that many new game titles also retail for around £70. With the ongoing RAM shortage unlikely to ease anytime soon, the situation appears poised to worsen before it improves.
