"It is with great sadness that I inform you my father passed away on 04/02/2026. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me in my life. Please forgive us as we will hold a private family funeral. I hope you will continue to enjoy my father's works, especially Kunio-kun," his son shared in a heartfelt announcement.
Kishimoto was a dominant force during the golden era of arcade gaming. In the 1980s, he initially contributed to games like Cobra Command and Road Blaster at Data East. His career truly took off after moving to Technos, where he solidified his legacy with Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun, known in the West as Renegade.
