Zelensky Hails "Very Fruitful" Middle East Tour
Volodymyr Zelensky has lauded his recent tour of the Middle East as highly successful, announcing a series of security cooperation agreements and ongoing negotiations with regional partners.
The Ukrainian President reported the conclusion of 'historic' agreements with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, with talks also advancing with Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.
A key focus of Zelensky's visit was to offer Ukraine's specialized expertise in countering drone and missile attacks, skills honed during its ongoing conflict with Russia. Several countries in the region are reportedly seeking similar capabilities amid escalating tensions linked to the Iranian conflict.
"This is a very concrete and practical matter," Zelensky stated, emphasizing Ukraine's active export of its defense systems, military experience, and technological know-how.
The newly forged agreements encompass cooperation in air defense, joint production of defense equipment, and potential partnerships in the energy sector. Zelensky also highlighted discussions aimed at securing diesel supplies, a critical resource for Ukraine's military and agricultural sectors.
Kyiv views this initiative as both a strategic and economic opportunity, aiming to strengthen international ties while bolstering its own security through reciprocal partnerships.
