Rumored new God of War game to feature Japanese and Chinese mythologies, multiple main characters
God of War: Sons of Sparta was a welcome treat for fans longing to return to the world of Greek myths. However, for the majority, it wasn’t enough to satisfy their appetite, and they are instead seeking a new cinematic God of War experience from Sony Santa Monica. For months, we’ve heard rumors of a game featuring Faye, Kratos’s deceased second wife, and we’ve just added fuel to the fire with new information provided by MP1st.
The new details concern the game’s main characters, which will apparently include Tyr, the Norse god of war, as well as the already mentioned Faye and new mythologies. Given that we’ve seen and fought most of the Norse pantheon by the end of God of War: Ragnarök, it makes sense that new mythologies would be introduced in the latest game.
According to MP1st, these mythologies will include Japanese and Chinese elements, with the Maya mythology also potentially making an appearance. This information has not yet been confirmed, nor has the game as a whole, so take everything said here with a grain of salt.
It appears we might also see more fantasy elements in the game, as we will apparently see a talking sword companion, rumored to be Merlin (giving serious Mimir vibes), as well as a gelatinous cube companion.
