The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Set for Nintendo Switch 2 in August

Following its release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S last year, “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered” is preparing to transport players back to Bethesda’s fantasy classic once more. After being announced earlier this year for the Nintendo Switch 2, it has now been confirmed that “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered” will launch on August 11th.

This release date strategically avoids the crowded late 2026 launch window, which often sees titles aiming for September and October, or even pushing to 2027 to steer clear of major releases like Grand Theft Auto VI. However, given that “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered” has already been available for over a year, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is unlikely to significantly impact the launch of other games planned for this year.

Nevertheless, this is a welcome addition for fans eager to experience the game on the go. The Nintendo Switch 2 will allow players to take their adventures in “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered” wherever they please. Interestingly, the accompanying trailer predominantly showcases gameplay on the Switch’s docked mode. This is primarily due to the trailer’s focus on a devoted fan who persistently accompanies the player, making their daily activities somewhat chaotic with their unending enthusiasm.
