Real Madrid Reportedly Preparing Major Defensive Transfer for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni

Real Madrid is not done with its transfer activities, and new rumors suggest another significant defensive reinforcement is in the works, following the confirmed arrivals of Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konaté. Similar to Denzel Dumfries, who recently departed after Morocco’s World Cup exit – with his transfer to Real Madrid being a persistent rumor but not yet officially confirmed – the next target is reportedly another Inter Milan player, Alessandro Bastoni.

The central defender, a cornerstone for Inter Milan since 2017, after two seasons on loan at Atalanta and Parma, is said to be the next target for the white club, according to AS. This transfer could cost approximately 60 million euros and has the agreement of both the player, who wishes to join Madrid, and Inter Milan, which maintains an “excellent” institutional relationship with Real Madrid, according to AS, and has opened the door for the player.

However, the Spanish media outlet reports that the situation “evolves almost daily” and will not be resolved anytime soon. As an example, Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund seemed to be a target for Real Madrid, but following his injury, this transfer is now abandoned.

According to AS, Bastoni had initially negotiated with Barcelona, but this was before he knew that José Mourinho would return to Real Madrid next season, which has prompted him to “put everything on hold” to await a call from Florentino Pérez.
