At CinemaCon, Warner Bros. unveiled exciting details about the upcoming return to Middle-earth, focusing on the anticipated film, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
The studio confirmed that the movie is set to hit theaters on December 17, 2027. Continuing the momentum, the main cast for the film has also been revealed.
Several familiar faces from the Land of Shadow will reprise their roles. Andy Serkis will return as Gollum, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo, and Lee Pace will once again don his elven crown to portray the majestic Thranduil.
Furthermore, it was announced that Kate Winslet will join the cast as Marigol, and Jamie Dornan will step into the role of Strider, also known as Aragorn, taking over from Viggo Mortensen.
It appears there is much to look forward to when this film graces the big screen next winter.
