Warner Bros. Sets Release Dates for New Ocean’s Film, Spin-off, and Zach Cregger’s Next Original Idea

Amidst the ongoing excitement from CinemaCon, Warner Bros. unveiled its slate of upcoming film releases for the next few years. Audiences now have insight into when to expect the spin-off featuring Aunt Gladys, a new installment in the Ocean’s franchise, and Zach Cregger’s forthcoming science fiction thriller.

According to Deadline, Cregger is poised to be a significant figure in Warner Bros.’s plans for the coming years. While he is currently collaborating with Sony on his Resident Evil film, his next project will be “The Flood,” a movie based on an original concept from Cregger himself, slated for release on August 11, 2028. Prior to that, the prequel film to Ocean’s is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2027.

Gladys will arrive shortly after, on September 8, 2028. Horror appears to be a substantial focus for Warner Bros.’s release calendar, as evidenced by the inclusion of “La Revanche de La Llorona” on April 9, 2027, “Destination finale 7” on May 12, 2028, and “Evil Dead Wrath” on April 7, 2028. Adding to the release schedule is Baz Luhrmann’s Jeanne d’Arc film, set for a November 22, 2028 release.

During their keynote, Warner Bros. also acknowledged a general decrease in blockbuster production by major studios. This is a trend WB aims to avoid, planning to release 14 films this year and 18 films in 2027.

“Listen, we know they’re not all going to work… but our job is to step in, make bets, and own them when they don’t work,” stated Warner Bros. Publications CEO Pam Abdy.
