In 2024, we previously reported that former Bungie composer Martin O’Donnell was running for a congressional seat in Nevada. He was unsuccessful in that attempt, but he is once again vying for a position in this autumn’s elections, and this time, he has secured a more significant endorsement.
O’Donnell shared on X that he is “truly honored to have the endorsement of President Donald J. Trump.” He further elaborated that this backing was instrumental in his decision to run again:
“I promised that I would stand down if President Trump did not endorse me, so that Republicans could avoid wasting resources on a pointless primary.”
The former President himself posted on Truth Social, stating, “It is a Great Honor to Endorse America First Patriot, Marty O’Donnell, who is running to represent the incredible people of Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.” He went on to detail his reasons for support:
“Marty O’Donnell is a world-class composer and entrepreneur who understands the ‘America First’ policies needed to create terrific jobs, cut taxes and regulations, promote NO TAX ON TIPS, advance MADE IN THE U.S.A., and champion our nation’s golden age.”
The midterm elections are scheduled for November 3rd, at which point we will see how O’Donnell fares. He is perhaps best known as the composer, alongside Michael Salvatori, for the entire Bungie Halo series, as well as Destiny. However, after a major falling out with the studio, he departed the company and has since focused on his political aspirations.
