In 2024, we previously reported that former Bungie composer Martin O’Donnell was running for a legislative seat in Nevada. He was unsuccessful that time, suffering a loss, but he is trying his luck again in this fall’s elections, and this time he has stronger backing.
Via X, O’Donnell stated he is “truly honored to have the support of President Donald J. Trump,” and continued to say this endorsement was crucial in his decision to run again:
“I promised that I would step aside if President Trump did not endorse me, so that Republicans could avoid wasting resources in an unnecessary primary.”
The President himself wrote on Truth Social that it is a “Great Honor to Endorse America First Patriot, Marty O’Donnell, who is running to represent the incredible people of Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District,” and he elaborated on his support as follows:
“Marty O’Donnell is a world-class composer and entrepreneur who understands the ‘America First’ policies needed to create tremendous jobs, cut taxes and regulations, promote NO TAX ON TIPS, advance MADE IN THE U.S.A., and champion the Golden Age of our nation.”
The midterm elections will take place on November 3rd, and we will see how things play out for O’Donnell, who is perhaps best known as the composer (alongside Michael Salvatori) of all of Bungie’s Halo games, as well as Destiny. However, after a major falling out with the studio, he departed the company and has since focused on his political career.
