YouTubers Face Prison Time After World Cup Arrest

Two Argentine YouTubers are facing potential prison sentences of up to five years following their arrest during the World Cup match between Portugal and Colombia in Miami. U.S. authorities allege that the content creators circumvented multiple security checkpoints by using fraudulent press passes from a previous game.

Beni Marmol and Pato Perrotta were reportedly apprehended after successfully passing through three security barriers. Police reports indicate that Marmol stated his intention was to stream the match live, while Perrotta claimed to be working for a media company but was using an expired accreditation.

If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison and a fine of $5,000. Their manager has stated that they have been released on bail and will not be deported. However, they are prohibited from approaching any World Cup stadiums while the case is ongoing.
