Hungry Hungry Hippos: A New Survival Thriller Emerges

In recent times, Hollywood has been on a relentless pursuit of intellectual property, leading to a surge of peculiar adaptations. However, one recent effort might be pushing the boundaries a little too far.

The first trailer has been released for “Hungry,” an adaptation of the iconic board game “Hungry, Hungry Hippos.” As you might have guessed, the film centers around a group of people fighting for survival against a horde of ravenous, rampaging hippopotamuses.

Penned and directed by James Nunn, known for “One Shot,” the film features a cast including Madison Davenport, Tracey Bonner, Joaquim de Almeida, Michel Curiel, Jim Meskimen, Samantha Coughlan, Olivia Bernstone, and River Codack.

Regarding the film’s narrative focus, the plot synopsis outlines: “Set in the mysterious and dangerous landscape of the American Southeast swamps, a group of tourists embarks on a boat excursion. Unaware of the bayou’s perils, they venture off the beaten path, drawn by the promise of an exclusive adventure. Little do they know, their journey will transform into a fight for survival against a voracious hippopotamus lurking in the depths. Hungry is a thrilling survivalist tale that depicts an impossible struggle against one of nature’s most powerful creatures.”

The film is set to be released on VOD in June, followed by its debut on Sky Cinema for all subscribers in September. You can catch a glimpse of “Hungry” and its cinematic glory in the trailer below.
