Following their Bundesliga title win last weekend, where they set a new scoring record, Bayern Munich is aiming to become the first team to achieve a treble for a third time. In a week leading up to the European competition semi-finals, Germany will host the DFB-Pokal semi-finals on Wednesday, April 22nd, and Thursday, April 23rd. Bayern Munich will face Bayer Leverkusen, while reigning champions VfB Stuttgart will compete against Freiburg for a place in the final.
While Bayern Munich has dominated the Bundesliga, winning 13 of the last 14 titles, their DFB-Pokal success has been more modest, with only three victories in the past decade. Despite this, they remain the most decorated club with 20 titles overall, though they haven’t lifted the trophy since 2020, the same year they secured the Bundesliga and Champions League.
Over the last 15 years, the German Cup has seen a variety of winners. Alongside Bayern, other champions include Schalke 04 (2011), Borussia Dortmund (2012, 2017, 2022), VfL Wolfsburg (2015), Eintracht Frankfurt (2018), RB Leipzig (2022, 2023), Bayer Leverkusen (2024), and VfB Stuttgart (2025).
